The Law Dog
(Texas Jockstrap)
The "Law Dog" or "Texas Jockstrap" variant holster favors the style of S. D. Myers of El Paso right after the turn of the
century around 1910. The "Lawdog" holster is a Mexican loop holster
of the "Texas Jockstap" variant. It features an elongated T-shaped strap riveted
to the skirt. It has a 15 degree
forward cant when mounted and accomidates Ruger Vaquero, Colt SAA, and its
clones up to 4 3/4 inch barrel.
Ruger Blackhawk with a 5 1/2 inch barrel and is on a 3 inch cartridge belt

This black rig carries a Ruger Vaquero Sheriffs model in 357 and the
gun belt has 30 woven cartidge loops.

Law Dog with aged finish
I made this one for myself with homemade walnut stain.
Pretty much the same as the Sheriffs rig but I sat the gun a little
higher and did it in an aged finish. It has a 15 degree cant, I wanted something
in the western style with somewhat of a quick draw for plinking at the range.
